In homeopathy, one observes very carefully, many symptoms that have nothing to do with the direct diagnosis are also important in order to find the right remedy.
What is the cause? Injury, cold wind, infection, shock from bad news, lovesickness…
Where does it hurt?
What is the pain like? Burning, stabbing, as if ice water were flowing down the spine, as if crumbs of bread were scratching in the throat…
What makes the symptoms better or worse? Fresh air, any movement, sitting, lying down, travelling in a car…
Who is ill?
Mind symptoms: anxious, irritable, dizzy….
What are the symptoms associated with?
Accompanying symptoms: e.g: The patient is numb with fever, the head is hot and red, the feet are ice cold (Belladonna would be the remedy here). Or the patient is dazed, the face is also red and the eyelids are drooping (Gelsemium would be the remedy here).
Inhale – Exhale Gather oneself Take a step back What do I see? What else do I perceive? What is most important?
The symptoms are then sorted. The highest rank in the symptom weighting is given to the
Causa (the cause: hormonal changes, sunlight, getting cold….)
The unusual symptoms (e.g. sore throat better when swallowing solid food or hay fever in the rain) are also very important.
This is followed by the mind symptoms
then the precisely described local symptom with modalities (e.g. explosive, watery diarrhoea with severe colic, heavy sweating and great weakness, better with warmth, worse at night).
At the end are the accompanying symptoms
If, according to this work, two remedies still appear to be of equal rank, the state of mind is the deciding factor.
